Happy new year!!! Hopefully everyone has a good start of 2018 and ready to kick off the reading list 🙂

Before we move on to the new year, new goals and new challenges, I would like to reminisce a little bit about my reading life in 2017. Enjoy the list!

Most “great book, but why you do dis ending??”: Church of Marvels, Conclave

Most charming setting: A Gentleman in Moscow, The Bookshop on the Corner

Most surprisingly enjoyable: Uncommon Type, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running

Most “full of characters that I’d love to punch”: Fates and Furies, Burnt Paper Sky

Most “books with lame romance”: Song of The Lioness series, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair

Most live up to expectations: The Underground Railroad, The Nest

Most juicy series that very entertaining: Game of Thrones (still!!!), Crazy Rich Asians

All in all, I enjoyed my reading experience in 2017. I found some new authors (that I’d love to read again in the future), I discover new genres and went outside of my comfort zone a little bit (I read 4 non fictions and 1 audiobook!!!), and even successfully read 40 books from my TBR.

According to Goodreads statistics, I have read 81 books in 2017 (a bit more than last year’s total, and just one more book than my 2017 reading challenge target), 27,283 pages, with average of 3.5 stars rating. Not bad at all 🙂

I have finished two reading challenges, and only missing one review (perhaps I will write the review this year if I had a chance):

Heyho! So finally I decided to do another challenge this year, after skipped all kinds of challenges in 2016. Well, go with the flow was really fun and liberating, but I think I would like to add a bit of spice for this year reading. Because after a long and winding 2016, people need to welcome 2017 with some more spirit 🙂

After looking at some candidates for my challenge this year (I decided to only join one challenge), I kept coming back to POPSUGAR Reading Challenge. It doesn’t require reviews, unlike challenges hosted by bloggers, and I think most of the books there could come from my forever tall TBR pile.

Here’s the list:

Phewww, those are a lot of books! Hopefully I could actually finish this challenge LOL. Let’s see what happens at the end of the year…

Actually POPSUGAR also has an Advanced Challenge, with additional themes but I don’t think I would do it, since I would still join BBI Reading & Review event each month.

Sooo… wish me luck!!

PS: Since POPSUGAR doesn’t make official button for this challenge, I took the image from their original post about this challenge and add the wording myself, and voila, I made a special button just for my posts 😀

2016-2017

Membabat at least 40 buku dari timbunan 😀
Yea, yea, right.

Mempunyai boxset Harry Potter

Doain aja yaa… 🙂

Lebih banyak membaca sama Yofel

Iya, tahun 2016 kemarin memang sempat membuat beberapa postingan [Reading With Yofel], tapi rasanya kok kurang banyak yaa…

Menyelesaikan at least satu challenge

Iya, masih ragu sihhh mau ikutan challenge nggak ya? Last year was so fun because I gotta choose books to read only based on my mood. No restrictions, no deadlines, no regulations… Tapi saya juga gatel untuk kembali mengasah adrenalin saya, reading outside my comfort zone… Karena it’s true, last year was laid back and cozy and all – but.. I missed the excitement as well. So… I decided to still take things lightly this year, but spice it up a bit with an easy challenge. Let’s see what I’d do ya 🙂

Hmmm… sepertinya itulah beberapa wish saya untuk 2017. Sepertinya kok jadi lebih seperti resolusi ya? Hahaha…

Once again, happy new year, happy 2017, and let’s bring it on!!!
